Where to find the regulation mark
Look at the bottom-left corner of the card, next to the set symbol and card number. The regulation mark is a single white letter in a small black box. Cards printed before 2020 don’t have one.

Rotation FAQ
What is a regulation mark?
It’s the small white letter inside a black box at the bottom-left corner of a Pokémon card (for example “H” or “I”). The Standard format allows only certain letters each season, so it’s the fastest way to check if a card is legal.
When is the next rotation?
The next expected rotation is April 10, 2027. Expected annual rotation (placeholder date). Cards with regulation mark H are expected to rotate. Official dates are announced by Play! Pokémon, so double-check before big events.
My card has no regulation mark. Is it legal?
Basic Energy cards are always legal. Older cards without a mark are not legal in Standard, but many are legal in Expanded (Black & White onward).
Can I use a reprint of an older card?
Yes, if the reprint has a legal regulation mark, any version of that card with the same name and text is usually legal. Check the official Play! Pokémon rules for exceptions.
